Mission:

The Army constructed the Chemical Agent Munition Disposal System (CAMDS) to:

  1. develop and test new technology for demilitarization and disposal of toxic chemical munitions;
  2. develop a technical data package for use in design and construction of other similar plants; and
  3. process the unserviceable chemical munitions.

Location:

The CAMDS facility is located approximately 12 miles south of Tooele, Utah in Tooele county.

Control:

CAMDS and the Chemical Munitions Stockpile at the Deseret Chemical Depot are controlled and operated by the U.S. Army Chemical Material Agency.
