Utah's Disposal of Electronic Waste (S.B. 184) legislation
Who needs to submit reports and what needs to be reported?
Section 19-6-1203 (Reporting Requirements) requires manufacturers of consumer electronic devices sold in Utah to prepare and submit reports. The reports must list eligible programs or systems offering collection, transportation, reuse or recycling services to consumers for electronic devices. See 19-6-1202 for definition of eligible programs.

Reports are to be submitted on or before August 1 of each year to:

Are there designated reporting forms?
There are no designated or required reporting forms. Reports may be submitted in a format appropriate to the information being submitted.
What else does the legislation require?
Section 19-6-1204 (Public Education Program) requires manufacturers of electronic devices sold in Utah to establish and implement public education programs to inform consumers of available recycling services for electronic devices. The education programs must include outreach materials and other communication methods developed by the manufacturer to inform consumers. This requirement is separate from the reporting requirements.
